Center for lightweight-production-technology (ZLP) is a national DLR facility with two research sites in Augsburg and Stade. The focus there is respectively on the automated production of components made of carbon fibre reinforced plastics (CFRP) for the aerospace, transport and energy sectors.

The Augsburg Chair of Regional Climate and Hydrology of the Institute of Geography is run jointly with KIT under the direction of Prof. Dr. Harald Kunstmann. The research focuses on investigating the interaction and feedback processes of soil, vegetation and atmosphere. With the help of satellite data and statistical methods, questions such as the availability of water and the development of the climate are investigated. The aim of the research is to advance the development and application of coupled hydrological-atmospheric model systems (WRF-Hydro) and Copula-based methods for the refinement and bias correction of climate and climate change information.
